Let them go if they dont like it here

Referring to Blacks who might not like the idea of Boris getting into power, the line by James McGrath (himself an immigrant) 'let them go if they don't like it here' is no reason to resign and illustrates the madness of political correctness.It is equally relevant to Asians, Arabs, Europeans etc indeed any of the millions who have decided to grace us with their presence and who think that the Well may have run dry here and might prefer trying their luck on different shores.I emigrated once but didn’t like my new home too much, so after a year I left and returned to England – how is that a problem in either direction? What would have been worrying would have been had he said 'If they don't like it here they will NOT be allowed to leave'.

Perhaps... but why shouldn't he just say what he feels.It's no wonder people have no time for Politics and don’t trust Politicians anymore – gone are the days when they spoke with honesty or passion.

Sounds like this bloke McGrath may not be as clued up as we are led to believe. Why did he not say in answer to the question'what makes you ask that,and we'll have to wait and see' or some such.It is only bluster on Howe's part,most ethnic minorities get a better deal here than just about anywhere else and they know it.

"The Black Police Association, Hounslow Race Equality Council, MP Keen turning a blind eye to illegal extensions for some (but not for others), Councillor Sharma’s refusing to criticise corrupt building applications from his ‘friends’" And a useful passport to big and better things for them...It happened in the USA, when positive discrimination,(racism in reverse!) barred soldiers who had fought in Vietnam, from many jobs. I wager that sooner or later, with the many left wing tree huggers that we now have in this country, it will happen to our troops here, after their army service is at an end!

This is the same Darcus Howe who described Britain as 'an insignificant little island@...I suppose in this cosetted,indulging world Jamaica has had a more profound influence on the histories of science,arts,politics,medicine,education,emancipation etc. than Britain.Anyway,where,exactly would they 'exodus' to.

" think McGrath's comments were ill-advised and stupid, but I would equally condemn the actions of Darcus Howe (a man whom in some other respects I admire), to whom he was responding, who had suggested that there would be an "exodus" of African-Caribbean people from the UK if Boris Johnson was elected Mayor of London.PhilI wonder if anybody has asked him why he thought that would be the outcome. Perhaps he knew, or thought Boris would have more control of the money doled out to BEM organisations, unlike cuddly Ken had! As I said in a previous post, what should he have said?..I would have said OK, if that's what YOU think will happen, I can't persuade or dissuade them one way or another if that's what you expect to happen. Did Darcus Howe have inside information about what would happen, if ever there was anybody that has a dislike for whites, this man IMO heads the list. I am glad that this anti English mayor, who delighted in rubbing our noses in it has vanished.....er on second thoughts he hasn't entirely, I understand that LBC radio has given him a platform to undermine Boris, I for one will not be listening to him, 8 years was more than enough thanks!

I think McGrath's comments were ill-advised and stupid, but I would equally condemn the actions of Darcus Howe (a man whom in some other respects I admire), to whom he was responding, who had suggested that there would be an "exodus" of African-Caribbean people from the UK if Boris Johnson was elected Mayor of London.Howe supported Ken Livingstone's campaign for re-election, and his irresponsible and frankly ludicrous remarks were simply another manifestation of the now established New Labour tactic of trying to scare people from ethnic minority groups into voting for their candidates.We've seen it here in Isleworth, and voters in recent by-elections in Hanworth Park and Chiswick Riverside were also treated to the same message - if you vote for anybody other than New Labour you will be persecuted, beaten and burned. It is gratifying to note that it had the same effect on the outcome of the London Mayoral election as it had previously had in Isleworth, Hanworth Park and Chiswick, although I doubt that this fact will do any more to dissuade its practitioners that this a really effective method of political campaigning than it did on previous occasions.

Andrew, You know what, it's getting more like Nazi Germany here each day.Frequently friends, relations and colleagues have to talk out of the side of their mouths, behind their hands or whisper in case we are overheard for fear of being labeled ‘This’ or ‘That’.We are not subversive, violent or out to upset anyone - we just would like the opportunity to speak our minds.Perhaps it's time to start the 'Resistance'

Would it have been OK if he had said "OK let them move to Liverpool" for example! This country, along with blacks and people from the commonwealth, fought Nazi Germany in WW2 who had prevented any open discussion, (unless it was to praise Hitler), and here we are emulating them! The country has gone bloody mad, racist remark........my ass. What would have been an apt "non racist" reply? I have been told by an employer in the past "That if I was unhappy, I could pi*s off if I didn't like it" The compo I could have claimed for this insult haunts me still.......play the music open the cage!
