Hogarth House

I had the pleasure of visiting Hogarth House yesterday evening and what a real treasure this is we have in Hounslow.We are so lucky to have so much history on our doorsteps and I would thoroughly recommend visiting if you can.

Hi PaulJust found out it was to celebrate the HLF award and the purchase of a letter.I just hope that it all goes to plan now that the Officer who pushed heritage in Hounslow is leaving.

Hi NeilYes you are correct,it was to celebrate the purchase of a letter written by William Hogarth on the 7th June 1754 to John Joshua Kirby an artist who later became Clerk of Works to the royal family at Kew.The cost of purchasing the letter was covered by grants from the Friends of the National Libraies and the Heritage Lottery Fund and also donations from private individuals.Howard was also present on Wednesday evening and it will be a real shame to see him leave.
