Local Scenes of Brentford wanted for Greeting Cards

Following the success of the Brentford in the Snow Christmas cards last year we are thinking of producing some cards of Brentford scenes which may be used anytime throughout the year.The Christmas cards were so well received thanks to all the local residents who kindly donated their photographs and money raised went towards the Christmas lights and to the Brentford Toy Library.The Brentford High Street Steering Group are raising funds for the Christmas Lights 2008 and for the First World War Memorial at St Lawrence's Church through card sales and a fund raising dinner and auction in September and we are appealing to local residents and the business community for support. Should anyone like to donate photographs for this very worthwhile cause we would be delighted to hear from you.  We are looking for good quality images of Brentford and plan to produce packs of 12 assorted cards which will go on sale through various outlets in Brentford.Many thanks for your kind support.

As soon as we get a good collection of photos we will choose 12 designs and get them printed immediately by the local printer Thomas & Sons who printed the Christmas cards.However as we are now going to invite some of the local school children to take some photos we will have to wait until the start of the new term.We just want a good collection of cards which will appeal to everyone and that may be used for all sorts of occasions.  I am sure that following the success of the Christmas cards they are a good idea and of course the proceeds will go to local causes for Brentford.Mike, let me have your details and as soon as they are ready we can get in touch.Julia 020 8847 4737.Many thanks for your interest.

Such a lovely idea, Julia.  How about letting the local schools photography depts know about this?  Their GCSE and A level students will be out and about taking pictures for their course work and it would be lovely to show in applications that one of their photos was in print, if you chose one.  :-)Isleworth & Syon, The Green School and Brentford School are all in the same group of schools for A level.

JuliaHave you thought of putting copies of old woodcuts and prints onto the cards or pics from old postcards.
