I resisted the temptation of buying the colour-rotating-flashing-fairy for the top of our tree.The wrapping paper and Christmas cards will soon be out in the 'seasonal' aisle at the supermarket ...

I saw two T.V. adverts last night that mentioned the 'C' word, far too early - can't they wait until mid way into November? We've got Hallowe'en and Guy Fawkes night to go yet. In the paper today there are several small towns already putting up their lights, can't be long until we see Easter Eggs!

Wonder how the high street stores will fare this Christmas - we have bought several things recently all on line with huge savings.Which reminds me - I am on the look out for the box from a 100 inch TV, to leave outside for the dustmen to collect. It has to be 100 inches as my neighbours put out a 50 inch one with their rubbish, this week .... didn't even bother to collapse it down :-(:-)

Why didn't your neighbours collapse the box down and leave it out for the recyclers? - I don't think the dustmen are actually obliged to take things like that.

Ha! ? is the answer to that one. :-)The rubbish sacks get piled up by the lamppost outside our house and several people (including our Postie) asked me incredulously, is that yours? Maybe we are behind the times but we wouldn't have a TV that size anyway - the box was out there for some hours and disappeared before the dustmen came, it was a pretty useful size could have made a Wendy house.
