To get the target message inside the BrentfordTW8 frame, use the addresshttp://www.brentfordtw8.com/default.asp?section=community&link=http://nnet-server.com/server/app/forum/ShowMessage.asp?ID=400472(replacing the last 6 digits by the number of the message you want).Note that this will display the message within the Brentford frame even if it's not from the Brentford forum. It's better to change brentfordtw8.com to the correct URL for messages from another forum.

Hello Steve - have you found yourself 'logged in' with your name at the bottom of the screen, yet when you go to post it says you must log in?I have now cracked it - if I go to the front page and click on my name at the bottom of the screen, the update page appears and after clicking update - without updating anything - it then allows me in! :-)

Ahh, sorry the wrong approach. I think that all you need to do is bookmark (or favourite) the posting. The only thing to be aware of, as I mentioned, is to bookmark the particular posting rather than the outer frame which is the forum topic listing.If you are using Firefox then right click and select This Framethen Bookmark This FrameIf you are using IE 7 then right click and select Add to Favouritesthis seems to add the posting as a favourite rather than the outer page.Hope this makes sense!

Thanks, Duncan.  I wanted it to tag a message but it can be amusing putting in random numbers to read the postings.  :-)

When you view the forum you are viewing it within a frame so the address in the browser isn't actually for the page you are seeing (if you follow me). To see the actual url:right-click on a posting link and select "open in new page" (or new tab depending on browser)the address shown will now be something like thishttp://nnet-server.com/server/app/forum/ShowMessage.asp?ID=400539If you bookmark an arbitrary posting in this way, then to see an earlier posting based on its id, open the bookmarked page and then replace the ID value in its address.

Also I found sometimes when using the 'search' block it found NO RESULTS unless I was logged on

Tried that Jim "No results found for 400472"There is a longer code which takes you directly to the message - but I can't find it or fathom out how to do this!I need one of our technical whizz kids ...  :-)

'View source' tells me the code of teh last message is 400472 - but how do I use it to locate the message?
