Household Rubble removal ?

Does anyone know of a local person/company that can help remove a number of bags of rubble from a home improvement project?  All the companies I have come across so far are based in Essex and won't travel, and am reluctant to get a skip as there is not enough for a skip and the road is too narrow.  Thanks in advance!Ian

Thank you everyone, my skip arrives tomorrow, permit supplied by the Skip company as the council will not issue them to the public.  Hopefully it will arrive with lights otherwise I will have to find some at short notice, so if I fail to find them in time, please be careful staggering out of the Lord Nelson pub on Friday night.

This was a service handed to the Highways Dept. sometime ago from street care, highways don't bother with putting lights on if they are missing or just not there as was once done, in conjunction with a charge for doing so. Also the skip companies now apply for the permit rather than the householder/hirer and some do supply lights with them - well at least that's the theory. This may not be thought of as a'cut', but it is one of many small things that was once routine and now has fallen by the wayside, we can only hope there isn't a nasty accident.

They are supposed to be lit at night and can be extremely dangerous if they are not.

My expectations of the skip policy and permits never met the reality of actual use around here, so I have never 'actually' understood why they exist - unless it is to look good/plump up the LBH web site of course.Reality dictates you may place your skip anywhere.  :-(

Ok, thanks for this will pop out and measure the road - their website says at least 12 feet wide,  I live on a very narrow road so may be touch and go. Thanks for suggestion.  Oh and they keep the bag it seems, after looking at the size of these bags I may need three which I guess puts me back in the price range of getting a skip. tks

Thanks, tried these guys but they don't operate in the area and don't really specialise in rubble unfortunately... anyone else got any contacts - that won't just take the money and fly-tip??
