Take a look at the Age Concern site and the new videos (well, I haven't seen them before). And then take another look at the credits!

Were these videos made in Brentford? The credits at the end mention Brentford.Jean, I think what you are doing is very very valuable. I think more people would help particularly when they are visiting their own relations in hospital if they knew how and could find anybody who wasn't too busy who could talk to them and tell them how.I am sure that most people want to get better and get out of hospital as quickly as possible. Eating well is one of the best ways. When I was desperately researching the best ways of getting bedsores to heal (notoriously difficult) all the information was on how important it is to AVOID them. When you look at how to avoid them: As well as being turned/moved regularly you have to keep your skin in good condition by - EATING WELL and NOT becoming DEHYDRATED!

I think they are brilliantly funny little videos. My father was hungry in hospital. He had had a stroke and was diabetic and just needed more. We had to go out and get food for him to eat as they didn't have anything suitable. I am so pleased that we were around to do this for him but finding out what we could give him and who to ask wasn't easy.I would hate to be on my own without friends or family to visit me in hospital.

Thanks for pointing this out Phillipa. I work as a patient feeding volunteer in my local hospital and it is very rewarding. We have mealtime protection and yes it is the young doctors who are guilty of trying to break it.
