Hiring a boat in Brentford

Walking along the canal last week I had the thought that it would be great to have a little holiday on a canal boat starting and finishing in Brentford. No planes, trains or taxis to worry about, just packing a little bag and walking to the canal. Are there agencies for this or a place where private individuals advertise their boats for hire? Thanks in advance...

There aren't any companies that offer hire boats in Brentford that I'm aware of... sometimes there is a hotel boat that starts or finishes in Brentford but they are a different experience entirely... usually all your meals cooked for you & most of the steering done by the staff.http://www.hotelboating.co.uk/cruising_schedules.htmThis site is OK if you have a date in mind;http://www.waterwaysholidays.com/You can search on the BW Waterscape website for operators;http://www.waterscape.com/things-to-do/holidays/canal-holidaysMost private individuals don't seem to do this sort of thing, I suppose the relevant insurance can be quite expensive in case of anything going wrong & personally I would feel a bit uncomfortable letting somebody just sail off in my boat unless I knew them quite well!Somebody may know otherwise though, I'm sure there are people out there that are open to hiring their boats...
