Constant Fly Tipping - End Of York Road!!!!

Us residents in York Road (apart from the burning of cars!!!!) Also have to endure endless 'fly tipping' at the other end of York Road, leading onto Windmill Road)  Dumped TV's, mattresses, computer monitors to name but a few... (A few months ago a complete ripped out kitchen, including the kitchen sink!) Is there a ' NO FLY TIPPING - PENALTY' council sign that the council  can provide and put on the wall for us? Thanks,Fran

The cuts are clearly beginning to bite, as this was one of the activities monitored and enforced until the night of the long knives that saw so many staff exit the Civic Centre. I wouldn't place much faith in a sign either, people who fly-tip are ignorant and filthy and not the sort to read signs or obey them, nicking them is the only answer.

Seems to be quite a few items getting dumped in the Brent Way area too now... obviously the 24 hour security is having little effect!

On Lion Way, behind our office, a fridge was dumped a couple of weeks ago and now a sofa.  It looks disgusting.

One of the problems causing this is the fact that the previously free service for taking away old fridges and freezers has now become a £25.00 charged service, also the price for the Tidy-town service that would take away all your rubbish - old sofas etc. was increased considerably, there is a direct correlation between these charges and the increase in fly tipping. It's all very well keeping the Council Tax down but what do you save if you have to pay through the nose for services that were either free or a reasonable charge - either way you have to pay, and it's daft and disingenuous to imagine that you don't. Paying through the Council Tax at least ensured to a far greater degree that there wasn't so much tempation to fly tip. I fear sadly this is a problem that will only get worse.
