Recently someone in my road was robbed by being tricked into allowing two people, one of them a woman, into their house. The police are looking for that person now. If this woman was known to them it might be helpful. Yes, they are unlikely to come out when the person is on the doorstep (though I can't imagine they are more likely to want dna unless a very serious crime is committed, and I wouldn't feel safe photographing someone, especially when they clearly know where I live) but if they build up an idea of her patterns, they may be in a better position to find out who she is. This doorstepping thing is more or less harmless and annoying, but if no one reports it, the police have to start from scratch when she actually does manage to commit a crime.
