Somerfield in Brentford

Just a cautionary tale regarding so-called promotional items showing in this store.  Whilst shopping today I bought three lots of promotional items - you know, the buy one get one free type or two for set cost, etc. and not one of the discounts offered was correct on my receipt. I have spoken with the store who seemed to try to dig themselves into a deeper hole with explanations regarding head office etc. but as I pointed out to them, when items are shown as BOGOF or set prices for two then that is all I expect to pay and not have a different discount value to the one I was expecting.I have also referred this to Hounslow Trading Standards as not one of the offers I purchased was correct so maybe there are other so-called offers in that store that are also incorrect.

I've had this on numerous occasions with 'Scumersby' (as we call it!)  I always check my receipt now before I leave, though one time I went back a week later and complained, and did receive the difference back and a vague apology from Martin, the Manager!My gossip, from Christine (the one with the eyes!) is it's going to be Morrisons from 23rd April...bring on April !!xxx

Ive been led to believe that Morrisons take over in April...someone said 23rd.

Lydia, haven't gone back to get refund as yet but have spoken with them on the phone so do hope to get money back when I pop in there on Friday.

I thought Somerfield group had been bought by Coop Foods - elsewhere in the country the local Somerfields are being re-branded as Coops. Unless of course part of the Coop purchase was some stipulation that some sites needed to be sold off..? Morrisons / Coop / Somerfield - what's the preference?

Did you manage to get a refund on the difference?Incidentally, does anyone know what is happening with Somerfield?  I have heard it will be closing imminently, for a month, as it is being turned into a Morrissons?
