Steam Train at Brentford Saturday 14th February

For anyone who may be interested a steam train is due to pass through Brentford on the 14th at just after 1000. It is the newly built Tornado. www.uksteam.info. It is due at barnes 1000 then Hounslow at 1021 so guess it will go through about 1005 or 1010. Then the return Hounslow 1525 and Barnes 1537.The web site lists all steam hauled train tours for 2009 and they use the Brentford loop quite often A great sight if you or your children have never seen a steam train at full steam and speed

Hi Robert I thought the Tangmere was going via Richmond to Waterloo. Whilst Clan Line was from Victoria via Brentford.

Janet, Tornado was on a day excursion to Eastleigh, Nr Southampton and return to Waterloo.Craig, schedule now showing next Saturdays train passing Brentford at 1310hrs has a switch of engines to Battle of Britain Class "Tangmere" 34067 and is operating from Portsmouth Harbour to Waterloo and return.

It was nice to see so many people enjoying the view on Saturday. This comming saturday 21st February there is another train called Clan Line comming through at about 10 past one or 1310. It is a merchant navy class and will be pulling Pullman coaches.

Standing in the playground at the back of Marlborough School when a train comes past is a treat especially the steam train or ones carrying containers en route to the ports.  I was doing some fund raising for the school and took the liberty of writing to some of the companies who had their names emblazoned on the sides of the containers saying they came past our playground - and I had some lovely donations!  :-)

Can I just say that the steam train passes quite regularly through Brentford. Very impressive. I did see it this morning passing behind garden.  You can see the old fashioned carriages with lamps on the tables.  Ive often wondered if this is a day trip on a steam train to somewhere. Any information anyone?

10:13 and 19:44 is what it says if you go through to the train operator's website.I've often heard it and seen the steam but never seen the train and won't be here for the morning, but might well try the evening view.Thanks Craig

I was at Brentford station last summer waiting for an anonymous mid-morning SWT service when a steam train came through at full pelt. It really is an impressive sight and somehow warms the heart.
