Fusiliers cheered at Lampton Park

A gratifying number turned out on Hounslow’s streets and in the Park this afternoon, to see the Fusiliers march in formation to receive a warm reception at the Civic Centre with vowed support for them and the families left behind as they head for Afghanistan.All except a couple of the photos I took were with someone else’s camera, but here’s one of the Mayor chatting with the drummers towards the end of the day (if the new photobucket codes have been correctly chosen):

I see on the news tonight that the usual Islamist demonstrators attended the parade of the Anglian Regiment to exercise their usual abuse of Freedom of expression, something which they would certainly not be allowed to do elsewhere.....there hate message said "Go to Hell Anglian Soldiers" well you cowards I return the sentiments...If you don't like it here, my advice would be P**S off then.

NigelThanks for your post, it is about time the people of this country recognised, and stood up for our service people. I heard a marine commando say that his wife who works in a call centre, earns more than he does, what an indictment on our Labour luvvies in government. But I suppose that one day they will get their noses out of the trough and pay and equip them properly, or withdraw them from out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Good luck to them, and may they wipe out many Taliban scumbags.........there I've said it!
