Budgie found in Clifden Road

We have a sweet little budgie at home, very tame. He was found in Clifden Road not far from a peckish-looking cat and happily hopped on my finger to eat a biscuit. Please let us know if you know where he lives.Thanks...

I thought they were delicate things prone to draughts and chills like Victorian ladies, but apparently the owners bring the cage out in the garden with them so I guess they are hardier than that.And s/he was much prettier than the one in the photo - white and yellow with bits of grey and blue on the wings.

Was it the fondness for the Heineken bottle that told Holly it was a little guy rather than a little gal? - are there differences in their faces?Do escaped budgies survive long in the wild?

Against all odds, the owner saw one of our posters and rang this morning. He is on his way home! I feel so pleased for the little guy and his family.

As a bird owner, I can imagine someone will be over the moon to have their budgie back. I am sure the odds must be very much against them being retrieved.  Hard to say how far he will have travelled, not far I hope.

Yes, I was surprised that it was so easy to entice him. Someone must be missing him; he is a sweet and friendly little thing. He is inclined to sit on heads and doesn't like being put in his cage.I would consider keeping him if no one comes forward, but I fear that my dog will eventually find a way of getting to him, so if he doesn't go home we'll have to find him a new one.

No claimants yet? Must have been very tame (or hungry) to step onto your finger. I thought escaped budgies usually headed for an out-of-reach curtain rail and then, when your back was turned, nipped out the door and on to freedom .... where the cold quickly carrid them off.  Are there any wild colonies of budgies in the way there are parakeets on the loose?
