Former Mayor Andrew Morgan Watts

Is there any truth that the former mayor Andrew Morgan Watts, who left the Liberal Democrats a few weeks ago because he wanted to be independent of politics, has now crossed the floor again to join the Tories? Is it true that the Tories have dumped Peter Hills and Linda Nakamura from the west area committee chair? What is going on Hounslow council seems to be one big game of musical parties.

I know our coalition partners will disagree with me when I say this but I believe talk of an overall Conservative majority post-2010 to be so much wishful thinking (not just on the part of the Conservatives!), and unsupported by the demographics of the borough.

If it is true the Tories were always going to dump Peter Hills and Linda Nakamura and to be honest I have little sympathy for them as they decided to leave the Hounslow Independent group for the sake of a bit of power on the area committee. The Tories are now gearing up for next year's elections and can see everything coming up roses for them. As for AMW talk about confused.com - wouldn't trust him an inch perhaps he's doing the same keeping the Tories sweet to have a chance of staying on the council? Any port in a storm.
