Red Brompton Bike stolen from bike rack  outside Barclays

Topic: Red Brompton Bike stolen outside Barclays, opposite Wizz Bikes Friday 19th June 5.30p.m.   Anyone see my Red Brompton folding Bike being nicked opposite wizz bikes, today, 19th June. approx 17.30? Can't see any point in Boris going on about using yer bike, if there is no place to safely lock them up. Thought there were cctv cameras there, but . . . . Forum Home

Sarah, you called!!Here is a picture of the old "bike disassembling factory" on Lot's Ait, Brentford TW8.    No Brompton's were seen then.  Twenty two identification codes were noted by us on the underside of the bike frames seen. I gather that the Police didn't think it whorthwhile spending the time to identify them!Sorry to hear about these two latest thefts..how bl***y annoying!

There was also the bike 'spare parts factory' that Jim and my son Alex found when doing the riverside clean up in Brentford, a couple of years ago.  Did anything come of that?Cue - pictures please Jim!  :-)

MikeI'm sorry, I'd intended to contribute to this thread at the weekend but it slipped my mind.My wife had her fold-up bicycle stolen from inside our block of flats last week.  We even know who was responsible - there were two eye witnesses - but as far as I am aware nobody has thus far been charged.There is a spate of bicycle thefts going on in the area at present.  Word is that the thieves are passing them to another crook for the price of the next fix, whilst the man at the centre sells them on at a good profit.Obviously I can't say whether it was the same people involved in your case, but I'd be happy to share any information with you by PM if you so wish.In the meantime, if you haven't done so already, I would suggest reporting the incident to the police and getting a crime number.  Whilst it is quite obviously well down the list of their priorities, the more complaints they receive the more priority it will be afforded.Best of luck.

Sorry to hear of your bike being stolen.  There is CCTV on the High Street - Roy Branch chair of Brentford Business Watch has access to this - 020 8568 5096 although I dont think he will be around until Monday.

No.  Nobody would leave a bike unlocked.  But, I guess you need more than the one lock to secure a bike in Brentford.
