The weather seems better this Sunday afternoon and one hopes that the attendance is up. Must nip down there again!Blue balloons everywhere and that's a good sign! ;0)Whilst there are a few Brunel remnants scattered around The Ham (up the road) it's the watery dock basin itself that is the main remnant. All the railway lines and buidlings around the edge of the Dock Basin have been removed and the flats erected in their place. Whoops.Just noticed Jeremy had me down as playing at 8.45 last night. I'm on my way down now mate to see Max and the One more time Jazz band and fill in where needed. By the way, the Jazz band are on every Tuesday at the Brewery Tap.

Now that does sound fun David.! An all weekend event absorbing the old and new of brentford ..with food and music and jollity.We must remeber it won't perhaps be repeated for some time!Thus its a unique event.Trawling through cyberspace, I came across this picture of Brentford Dock..in the 1920's!!Then I've added a few bits and bobs!

Hi Jim,The http://www.brentforddock150.co.uk/ site just gets longer and longer with more and more items being added.In fact our friends on the dock have pointed out to us that even the potential parking problems have been addressed and that there is special parking arranged just across the High Street in Commercial Road.They seem to have thought of everything and it should be fantastic...    Dave

Saturday 11th July noon till 10.30pmSunday  12th July noon till  5.30pm.(hope I got that right!)David, (hi there again).  Car parking has always seemed to be a problem on the Brentford Dock Estate..even when delivering someone home and wanting to do a three point turn.Were you suggesting that leaseholders are being charged money to help towards the cost of the Anniversary Event?.  Just imagine all the lolly the Managing Agents might have made over the years..perhaps.Nonetheless I'm looking forward to attending the event..and especially to hear the Jazz Band..and to see the old RT ? bus ambling along the High Street.  That will bring back memories.I googled the ONE MORE TIME Jazz band...and blow me down the trombonist shown was Bobby Dwyer..whose band used to play at the Princess Royal Pub..and who was at Chiswick's Strand on the Green Junior School with me and others back in the 40's and 50's!! Hasn't he done well!Lot's going on in Brentford these days.

That's a shame. I too will get on an old bus for tea and cakes. Maybe I get to meet local celebs like Jim Lawes! Max and the "One More Time " trad Jazz band will be playing.

I'm told the leaseholders at Brentford Dock don't see the fun side of it :-(As far as they are concerned they have been stiched up by the managing agents.  The leaseholders pay out the money and the agent gets 2 whole days of advertising for free.
