Do u Have a Cat and if So what Food do u buy?

I wanted to Ask all Cat Owners what cat food they buy and feed their Cat/s?

Get hold of some lion or tiger poo from the zoo, place this in your flower beds and any cats in the vicinity will leave sharpish. Probably work behind the TV too.

You could try eucalyptus oil on some tissues, but there must be a reason for this behaviour, might be worth Googling? Cats are very clean animals as a rule, there could be something wrong physically, worth a visit to the vet?

Get rid of the cat!! Not really a cat hater Sarah but I wouldn't put up with that problem.BTW what game were you playing with hubby?????

Yep I was told that too. I put loads of orange and lemon peel around the garden where my neighbor's cats like to poo and they just brushed it aside!!!

I've just been told the same thing! I want my biggest boy to stop licking the little one as he has a rash on his head and his fur is getting thinner where he gets licked. So I got some lemon peel and rubbed it all over little Lennie' head and ears, didn't make a scrap of difference, just a wrinkled nose and a nice smelling cat!

I have been told that cats do not like citrus so if I place a few pieces of orange or lemon peel in the corner it will probably deter the cat.  The person who suggested this said she used it to stop a cat from sitting on top of a video recorder, which was his favourite warm place but his long hair was going into the machine.

How do you stop a cat favouring a carpeted corner, for his business?  Window open this morning, just finished a game with hubby who left the room for 5 mins - came back, cat stretched out in middle of floor (definitely with a grin on his face) and the obvious smell from behind the telly.  :-(

Well, you have to wonder at all the conflicting advice as I lost my beautiful Minstrel two years ago and he was 19 and a half! And Toby who died the same year and had dreadful lifelong health problems was over 17! My vet thought we'd be lucky if he saw 10! And they were both RSPCA rescue cats. Seems to be the same as the advice for humans - everything in moderation is the key to a long and happy moggy life. One of the boys we have now is a chocolate addict - which is toxic and very bad for cats!! You have to watch him or he nicks it.

Fresh food put down to order, and he sniffs it and looks straight up at me as if it is missing something.  I have some crunchy topping, which he shouldn't want with the food (isn't as if it is the half kept back in the fridge) so I rattle the box above the food dish pretending to sprinkle it on the food in the dish, and he tucks in with relish!

Thank u for all the Advicei spoke to RSPCA and a Vet today was told that Fresh Chicken and fish isn't really good for Cats because of the Salt in it.I only asked the question as a Animal Charity advised me that Cat Biscuits and Wet Food is No good for a cat as they have Wheat, Poisons and toxics in them which affect the Liver and Kidneys.When i spoke to the Vet and RSPCA they stated that Cat Biscuits are Fine and better than Wet Food.The Charity also state if Your cat doesn't live till 20yrs old than you probably gave it the wrong Food, the Professionals say this is NOT the Case and 1 Vet stated in her years of being a vet she has come across 1 cat who lived till it was 20yrs old, i told her i had a cat who died when he was 12yrs old they said that was a good age.So thanks for all your Advice.

I have had cats for years and fussier individuals you would never meet. Mine have a real thing about something for a few weeks then won't even look at it the next. So I buy allsorts, I never feed dry food only as cats don't drink much and tend to suffer with kidney problems so they have IAMS always available for a snack, but wet food as main meals also they get tinned Tuna and fresh fish or chicken fairly frequently. At the moment they're into Sheba but it won't last! Hills they won't even look at nor Whiskas, although I do think Hills is probably better, you can get it cheaper on the internet, but I landed up giving two cases away to an animal charity.

Dry food. Our cats (brother and sister) are 11 years old and their teeth are in excellent condition according to our vet. We usually treat them to a couple of teaspoons of wet food though. Either Felix or Whiskas. However,my nephew is a vet and says that if you have a male cat suffering cystitus its not good to mix wet and dry food as it may prolong the cystitus. I haven't checked up on that though. Whatever you do though, don't give them milk. It makes them fat. Water only!!!

The best one recommended by Vets is, I believe, Science Plan but its very expensive
