Is Marcus from Big Brother representative of Brentford?

I haven't seen many like him. He is quite eccentric I suppose. Could be a character from a Robert Rankin book.

Sounds good Mick. I don't think there is that much Youth work going on now.Due to recent developments, if Marcus is representative of Brentford, I'm not sure he's doing us many favours.

I was running the Brentford and Isleworth Outreach Project based initially at the old Brentford Youth Centre in Half Acre until it was closed in 1993(now a nursery). We used to undertake detached work (ie working with kids on the street) on Haverfield, Ivybridge and Syon Estates, and we ran youth clubs on Ivybridge and (the one which Marcus attended) at the Bridge Church on Syon Estate.

Interesting. Where was the youth project? That would make it about 20 years ago.I probably enjoy BB more without so much tabloid attention because I've always thought it was more about human interaction.

The only reason I have occasionally looked at the programme this year is because of Marcus. I have known him since he was about 14 or 15 when he used to attend one of the youth projects I ran in Brentford although I haven't seen him for some years. I have to say he has hardly changed at all. He was always the same, slightly eccentric young man. To give him credit, he was neither a follower nor a leader - he went where he wanted to go. Quite an achievement nowadays.
