Is there a suggestion that Filming Money is going astray and not reaching the Council's coffers? Or big tips sloshing around? This may ..or may not be helpful. Checking Google etc ..it seems that the following Company manage this activity on behalf of the Council.http://www.reelfilmlocations.co.uk/borough.php?Borough_ID=1oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooAnd on the Fees charged page it says this:Terms & ConditionsReel Film Locations does not charge for viewing locations in its online library.Locations owned by the Local Authorities, whom we represent, may be booked and used as a film or photographic location and only a location facility fee will be charged. No library booking fee is chargeable. Facility fees are agreed by negotiation and the charge will depend on the period of time used, type of production and the use required for the footage e.g. internet, cinema, TV broadcast etc., and the size of the unit. We will try to work within your budget. Locations which are privately owned and booked through our library are subject to a library booking fee of £150.00.We strongly recommend that you visit the location prior to use to assess its suitability for your filming. Many sites are open to the public but we can recce the location with you if needed. If you are filming in the street or a public area we may require a recce with you. The first hour of the recce is free of charge. After this initial recce, location recces are chargeable. This location contract provides the Producer with access and filming rights to the property, ensures that the production company will reinstate any changes or damage to the premises, holds public liability insurance and has undertaken and submitted to Reel Film Locations a risk assessment for filming. The contract also limits the term or period of filming or photography. There is no guarantee that a premises is available on the specific dates that you may require.
