Local Topiary.

There's a fish in Clifden Road! have you seen it.?The trimmed hedge in the shape a fish with a mouthpiece, a tail..and even a reflective eye stands in a TW8 front garden near the old Swimming Baths. Very jolly and beautiful and must have taken quite some nurturing.Any others around?

After your tip off about Bedfont Green, and perhaps the publicity this Topiary thread is receiving..it just so happens that this week's Hounslow Chronicle has this picture on the Property Section front page!That does look special. Is that at Bedfont Green?ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooI wonder how Micky Mouse and Donald Duck are doing? Have they been clipped yet?  Saw a giant golf ball(?) on the Clayponds Estate today. Recently realised that I have a sealion in my back garden.An eye ought to be fitted before I do the photo!

Today's view from the Church Walk footbridge over the railway.Shame that Robin Taylor is belittling this Topiary threadin his Chiswick Forum postings. He perhaps isn't aware that it's a fine and dedicated art for those who are clever enough to do it.People with Civic Pride perhaps. And it's a pleasure for many of us when we observe and take note of it.

Heath Road, Hounslow has had this pair on display for some 20 years.I called there today and both topiaries need a trim! The owner and his friends were outside the house..and they've promised to get the hedgecutters out during the next week..to return crowdstoppers to their full glory.  So pictures will be on their way soon. Anymore sightings?Mickey mouse!Donald duck !! Very clever.

There it is on the left..as Michael said..westbound platform.OooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooYes a good topiary example..perhaps a picture from the Church Walk footbridge would be better…or try again from another angle.

Thanks for those pointers Andy and Michael...I'll do what I can to capture them!I took my digital Canon Ixus 500 down Cliften Road tonight hoping to capture the twinkling eye of the Whale (not a fish at all!). This camera doesn't like darkness really..but using the flash and photoshop an image appeared out of the night!Yes clever artwork by ..is it the Bowyer family? I must revisit in daylight. Where is the second whale Michael?

There's two whales in Clifden road!. And they are decorated with lights at christmas. Fab! And a steam train hedge along the west end of the westbound platform at Brentford stn.

Jim,It's not that local but I would suggest a visit to the church on Bedfont Green. It looked quite impressive when I drove past the other day.
