Boston Manor Park a popular place this weekend

The grounds are looking good but the slight distraction is all the metal fencing erected to do the electrical cableing for Sky.  We were promised it would all be finished in time - we were right not to believe them!There will be a girl guide jamboree in the park on the Saturday afternoon/evening where two hundred people are expected to celebrate the girl guide centenery.Out of our control however will be a party "for 300 invited guests" to be held on the area of land known as Clitherow Island at the bottom of the park by the canal.  We have always been told it was squatters on the land but the message coming out now is that the land has been purchased!  So, if you hear any music etc before 12 noon Sunday, it is not the Brentford Festival starting early.  See you at the festival.

See the two fields on the right?South of the Motorway,Bottom field was used for the Animal Farmthe pony rides and the Viking performances.The upper field had the stalls, funfareand main stage.North of the Motorway more stalls, the House,the Cafe, the pond and ducks and the walled garden (another stage) which is becominga very popular venue of it's own.

We had a great time this year.So much bigger than 2007(missed last years).Thanks to all the organisers for their efforts.I noticed the Mayor of Ealing but not of Hounslow.Isn't this bad form?

The Scouts cake stall made a touch over £500! Well worth the bak-a-thon Eliza, Emma and I put ourselves through. No chance to wander but lovely to meet those who came to say hello. Jim is no doubt busy airbrushing my picture and it'll be published some time soon.[hmmmmm maybe I didn't give Jim enough cake...]

Margaret, Tim, Paul and Shirley...so glad that you all went along withthe thousands of others..and wasn't it a spectacle?There's a great team behind the scene as you suggest  (all volunteers)and under the leadership of Linda Massey. It's  enjoyable socially too..and a great way to meet Brentfordians galore! It certainly was busy.And I thought the Park looked in very good shape too (apart from the temporary roadway).I hope Jim, resplendent in his tartan kilt pinny, managed to keep up with the volume of trade in the cafe while Linda was released to keep an eye over everything else.Well done.

Here here. We went down today as well and it was fantastic. Thank you to everyone involved, it must have taken hours to organise and it all went so smoothly. We loved the choice of music, food, crafts.... Roll on next year.

We popped down this afternoon and had a wonderful time at what was a fantastic event and everyone involved should be proud of themselves for all the hard work that was obviously put in making it such a success. The crowds were out in force and it was great to see so many residents clearly enjoying the sunshine and all the different foods etc on sale plus many Officers from LBH enjoying a day off and looking around and even in a couple of cases manning a stall themselves wearing their non LBH hats. Special credit must go of course to Linda Massey with her endless enthuasim,passion and energy and we are very lucky indeed to have someone like her caring so much about this park. I even visited the Labour stall and after a chat Cllr Matt Harmer happily signed his petition calling for a new Secondary school for the Isleworth and Brentford area so we do all agree on occasions!!

Today's the day...Looking forward to seeing your stalls Julia and Karenand buying the Badge and having some of those cakes! We like cakes!It's amazing that Brentford has such an enormous Event.. you wouldn't thought it possible in this day and age.  It's Linda Massey, the Event Manager, who conducts the orchestra..a large team of helpers...and she perhaps ought to be awarded a "Brentford is Brilliant" badge. She works like the clappers..to use old slang!So, we're all going ..see you there.
