Usain Bolt at Green Dragon School! - not a good example to Children

Bolt can obviously run faster than the others which is patently unfair. A handicap system should be introduced whereby the slowest competitor in the heats should start closer to the tape, the second slowest slightly further back etc to give everyone a fair chance.All the finalist in his race were black - this is unacceptable racism. The authorities should introduce positive discrimination and allow a white person (irrespective of ability) to be promoted to each and every race.Finally the starting pistol should be replaced with a multi ethnic non religious verbal request (in a non aggressive tone) by the official asking the competitors to start (raising his/her voice only if a particular competitor is hard of hearing).We need to build a fairer Britain.

Sorry, but who has lectured you about gender equality? I certainly haven't.I'm aware of the fact that the ICG councillors are made up of 50% women (and the Tories 33%) and have made no criticism of this. However, Labour's 25% reinforces my belief in the affirmative action policy of ensuring at least one female candidate per 3-member ward.In much the same way, I supported all-women shortlists (and because of this policy, we now have far more gender balance on the Labour benches in Parliament than on the opposition benches).

Ian raises a valid point.  Those who presume to lecture the rest of us about gender equality have to be forced to practice it by their own party heirarchy.  Those whom they lecture practice it automatically.

So do I actually - it'll be interesting to see what happens in some of those Hounslow and Heston wards. No such problems for the Tories and ICG of course, the latter with 50% female councillors.
