Car insurance a cautionary tale
Apparently some insurance companies, among them some well known and reputable (well as reputable as insurance companies get) names are cancelling insurance policies if the customer pays by direct debit and misses a payment. They then take two months payments the next month but still leave the policy cancelled and don't tell the customer, very worrying. You do not escape this disgraceful behaviour if you pay your premium up front for the year either, they have and do cancel the policy without any reason or notice as one poor soul found out when stopped by the Police and produced a valid certificate of insurance, which the company then said was cancelled!I have never liked insurance companies - latter day highway robbers, really on a par with our old friends the bankers, but this is truly appalling, as a driver I felt quite confident that I have fully comp. car insurance all paid up front so I find this just dreadful, has anyone had any experience of this?
