Thefts of car registration plates are an increasing problem in London. Thieves that steal number plates will use them to commit crimes such as petrol theft, evading speed camera and parking fines and London Congestion charges. To help protect yourself and your car and put a stop to this type of crime, The Osterley and Spring Grove Safer Neighbourhoods Team will be having a Crime Prevention Event at Tesco - Syon Lane, on the first Wednesday of every month, starting on Wednesday 7th October 2009. The times are normally 10am - 2pm though any variation will be posted on our websiteOfficers from the team will replace the screws on your number plates with special security screws making the plates harder to remove from the vehicle.
