Robin-I think making the racism comments on here on a regular basis is as good as a proverbial knocking on doors.I used to eat meat x amount of years ago, that doesn't make me any less of a vegetarian now, infact I find the idea of another animal dying so I can have it for lunch quite abhorrent. My dad (rest him) was a sergeant in the army, I spent my childhood at army open days, shooting guns and saluting my 'superiors'. I now have a great resentment for the MOD, offensive weapons and authoritarianisms. Does my past make me any less credible in my views?I think what I'm trying to say is that the beautiful thing about human nature is that we're capable of change and epiphany and remorse.Of all the racially (racistly? raciallististically? :p) questionable comments I've seen on this forum (and there have been quite a few, and I'm not going to point fingers because I think it's counter-productive) I don't think any of them have come from Phil (feel free to correct me, I'll admit I haven't sifted back through all the threads to check on everything that was said before I started reading some 3-4 months ago).Racism is bred out of ignorance, and the media, and misplaced anger, and the teachings of ignorant angry charismatic people to those who are young and lost and impressionable. Instead of condemning those who spout racist (or sexist, or homophobic or any of the 'ists' while we're at it) bigoted bile, perhaps you would do better to educate them and show them the truth with compassion.I've never met Phil, but in the context of a 'forum buddy' I think he's quite a pleasant person and I enjoy his virtual company, I don't think you're too bad either incidentally (albeit a little misinformed about a few things, but I try not to hold it against you. :)) Tony you've clearly presented yourself as a total moron, apologies to Phil if he's a friend of yours although at no point have I seen Phil defend or 'ally himself with him', and if you remember I felt the same way about that friend of Robins who told Jim to die soon or some twaddle.Oh dear it's turned into a bit of Kitsune-esque ranty essay.. Anyway that's just my opinion, feel free to take it or leave it, I just feel sort of inclined to express it. (especially since I've handed in my notice at work a week or so ago to spend more time at home with Lola and now seem to find myself painfully bored as she'd rather play with trains than me..)
