Former Labour MP for Brentford and Chiswick has died
Yesterday's Daily Telegraph contains an interesting obituary of Francis Noel Baker who died recently.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/politics-obituaries/6240722/Francis-Noel-Baker.htmlFrancis Noel-Baker was elected Labour MP for Brentford and Chiswick in 1945 but lost the seat 4 years later. He later rejoined the House of Commons as Labour MP for Swindon. His support for the Greek Colonels' Junta greatly embarassed the Labour Party at a time when many of us were campaigning for the restoration of democracy in Greece. His family's association with Greece went back to the days of Lord Byron. His father was a member of the House of Lords and he owned very large estates in Greece.
