YashdraI think you'll find Amin claimed to be the King of Scotland, not Ireland.  He even had the whole coronation thing and some years later they made a film about it.  Griffin claims to be Welsh.There is no convincing evidence of any line of descent from Queen Mary to Amin.  In spite of his name, Griffin's claims are believed by many to be equally spurious.

The protests were ill- conceived. Banning free speech has no place in a free society. The noisy and violent demonstrations at Wood Lane were totally counter-productive.Ann Keen clearly no longer represents even a significant minority of her constituents in her call to have Nick Griffin excluded from the programme. She is totally discredited.The fact that the normal format of Question Time was changed has ben criticised has been criticised by many people who do not agree with Nick Griffin but who believe in fair speech and fair play.The hard time given to Griffin by Dimbleby, the panel and the audience (which I welcome) may have in fact gained him some sympathy from those misguided enough to sympathise with him.Jack Straw's performance on Question Time was dishonest, evasive and boring.Nick Griffin was shown up to be a completely mixed up, dishonest and ignorant dangerous idiot.He reminded me of John Prescott on a bad day.Chris Huhne was predictably liberal and said nothing new.Bonnie Greer made some good points and quite rightly treated Griffin as an immature and poorly informed idiot.Sayeeda Warsi made concise and well informed contributions pointing out that both of her grandfathers had fought for Britain and kept her cool while others raged and interrupted. In many ways she was the most English of the panellists.

Have you ever taken up the issue of Cheryl Cole being taken to court for an assault on a black nightclub assistant whom she called a 'jigaboo' with ITV? I would have thought this a worthier cause , as Cole is a slightly higher profile national figure than Phil Andrews ( though much less glamorous of course ) .

"The programme, 'Undercover Mosque', broadcast uncut footage of UK Imams inciting Muslims to marry girls as young as 9 years old, throw homosexuals off mountains and to beat 'disobedient' wives." Strange none of the panel mentioned the above. Nick Griffin saying that homosexuals were "creepy", although a bizarre thing to say, does not compare with the above. Or is this irrelevant to the thread? I believe that the West Midlands Police attempted to censor this programme.Yes "Nasty Nick Griffin" is weird and has strange ideas,but I don't believe he suggests such an outrageous idea. as throwing anybody off a mountain!

The present government has been woeing the expelled generation to return to Uganda to develop it to its former prosperity.Now no question asked whether you are a Ugandan citizen(of any colour,cast,creed) because any one will be granted an indefinite permit to work and help the country develop economically,culturally..It needs them back!I identify Nick Griffith with Idi Amin,who would have joined his party had he not being named a baffon in the international papers.

I don't understand what the fuss was about in any case. Did the "mainstream" politians think Nick Griffin's "words of wisdom" would be so amazingly persuasive that the entire white working class of the country would immediately start shouting "Sieg Heil" and goose-stepping round their local streets? Why did they have so little confidence in their own abilities as speakers and/or the policies they wish to promote?Or was it that they are finally becoming aware that they have ignored the fears and concerns of working class people for so long, and have pigged out at the trough for so long that they know that nothing they say will be believed.In the event, the predictable and unremarkable happened. The  panel (led by the odious warmonger Jack Straw) ganged up on Griffin, allowing him to be seen by his supporters as a brave lone voice trying to stand against the tide of "the establishment"This will have no effect whatever on UK politics (Question Time is very much a minority programme watched by relatively few) and unfortunately, unless the mainstream parties begin to seriously prioritise and address the concerns and interests of large sections of the British people, rather than those of corporate capital, support for the odious Griffin will only increase.

How does somebody get nailed by their own open, honest and actually quite brave admission of the detrimental effect that their own ill-informed misdeeds have had on their own lives and the sad improbability of ever being able to repay their debt to those they've hurt and mistreated, despite a desire to try?I don't think those words can bite him in the a*se any more than they already had before they were written..But that's just my opinion.

I thought Nick Griffin Proved that he is a Racist Homophobic Liar last night.I liked the comment about the whip around (i would start it off)He looked shifty, he was shaky and Sweaty and couldn't answer questions properly and tried to deny stuff he said or did like Appearing on stage with a Member off the KKK then stated this Guy led a Non Violent KKK movement sorry but ALL the KKK are Racist and Violent and i am Glad Bonnie put him down 4 it.The homosexuality stuff was crap, most kids aged 7 upwards should no about it as most have someone in there life who is Gay, my son's Mum is Lesbian so is his 15yr old sister. My Sister is married to a woman and she has an 8yr old Daughter its done them no Harm. There are many young children confused about their Sexuality they should be told about it and told there is nothing wrong with it too.You can see the BNP is violent the way his Henchman shouted orders at Press when he arrived.I have to say the Protesters did not do themselves any justice they should off just had a peaceful Protest, they shouldn't off Behaved like Animals.Lastly Jack Straw was a Plonker why didn't he admit that the Government with their Immigration rules allowed the BNP to get 10000 Votes shame on him and the Government.

I've been posting on this forum for roughly 3 months now and reading it for about 5 and I've never seen Phil Andrews say anything that would suggest to me that he is a racist or a fascist. If I had I'd probably have been one of the first people to pull him up on it.And don't give me all that 'but he was in the NF when he was 20' spiel, that was a long time ago (no offence Phil..) and he's expressed regret for the abhorrent things he did in his youth on many occasions (and they WERE abhorrent, and he should be ashamed, which I expect he probably is). One of the most remarkable things about human beings is our capacity for change, remorse, and forgiveness. People are allowed to make mistakes, as long as they're prepared to acknowledge and atone for them.

One of the arguments used by those who felt Griffin should have been given a seat at the table was that not to have done so would have enabled him and the BNP to play the victim.But if the debate on the night centred on the BNP and involved three very high profile politicians all (rightly) laying into him will this not still be the outcome, no matter how badly he may have performed?I still find myself asking what, precisely, the object of this exercise was other than to boost viewing figures which undoubtedly it will have done.

Have to say. I was appalled by the mob baying for blood outside the BBC. Worse still the Politicians on the panel all trying to defend their failed policies which have led to the upturn in support for the BNP. It is also very worrying to hear main stream Politicians who only lately have been found to have been robbing the public purse for years calling for the BBC to impose censorship. All in all, I would say that the anti BNP cause shot themselves in the foot.
