Well, well, well... what can we say to this? The Cllr who actually dragged the Council kicking and screaming to serve an Abatement Notice, is of course Cllr Jon Hardy. He has been away for a few days and I am sure Cllr Thompson is aware of this so Cllr Hardy will no doubt be as in sensed as I am to return to this headline of the Tories claiming to have been involved in anything to improve matters at Mogden. As it happens, the Tory insistence to back the expansion will make matters far, far, far worse for local residents for another several years. I have been privy to some MRAG correspondence pertaining to a press release, not yet completed or issued, but now would probably be opportune to share some of this information. "Watch this space for the real story of a Tory Council Leader who has allowed Thames Water to walk all over him and now offers long suffering residents of both Richmond and Hounslow another "several years" horrendous stench after which "we should hopefully" see benefits. The Leader says he "thinks" he has a strong case with the Abatement Notice. We have news for him. Everything Thames Water does at the site to produce stench is with the full consent of his Environmental Services Department. Thames Water is smug in its knowledge that Hounslow have signed off on the OMP and S106 which is not fit for purpose. Hounslow will not even have the opportunity to see its OAN laughed out of Court. Thames Water has stated they are waiting with interest to see what the OAN will say (i.e. they are all looking forward to another good laugh at the inept Council) but their absolute priority is to get started on the MAJOR INCREASE IN CAPACITY. (i.e. the major increase in profits and the major increase in stench) Councillor Thompson says he has lost patience with Thames Water and its about time he 'is seen' to be going to war against Thames. That sums him up. He has not waged war on Thames; he has capitulated; as much as he would like to 'be seen' to be waging war.Well here's a fact. Residents have lost patience with this Officer run Council, its confused and ill-informed Leader and its misdirected, badly managed and inefficient Environmental Services Department. That this Leader of the Council has refused to meet, much less engage, with the residents he purports to serve, is a disgrace and it is beneath contempt that he uses the Hounslow Chronicle to pretend that he has ever been interested in Isleworth and South Hounslow when all he has been determined to do is to wage war on residents in his desperate attempt to befriend the Water Giant. Well done Leader. Residents will not forget what you have done to them. Every time we smell the nauseating, vomit inducing stench, we will see your smug Chronicle photo and remember how you blew a golden opportunity to REALLY work with us and our experts to improve the environment of Hounslow and Richmond."
