UNITE enlists strange bedfellows in it bid to destroy BA

We all now know about the incestuous and sinister relationship between the UNITE trade union and the Labour Party.However UNITE has now enlisted the support of even more dangerous bedfellows than Gordon Brown and Peter Mandelson in its determined and increasingly international bid to destroy BA.In its campaign against British Airways, its customers, shareholders, suppliers and workers, UNITE has now enlisted the assistance of the notorious Teamsters union of the USA and the French communist transport unions.James Hoffa the present boss of the Teamsters is the son of the notorious Jimmy Hoffa who was convicted of jury tampering, attempted bribery, and fraud in 1964, imprisoned in 1967, and sentenced to 13 years in jail. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TeamstersAnd we all know that French communist trade unions have neither the interests of BA, its workers, shareholders, suppliers or pensioners at heart.Shame on the Labour Party for accepting over £11 million in funds from UNITE over past 3 years.

Typical David Giles post. It's ok for BA to go around the world joining up other airlines and charter companies to break the strike but not ok for Unite to get help from other unions which they are linked with. His reference to the Teamsters refers to things that happened in the 1960's. Cluthching at straws or what.

I totally agree with you, unfortunately there will be no winners coming out of this strike, however there just could be if they would just listen and be reasonable.

They probably have many nice comfortable conference rooms in their training sections that they could stream the discussions into.

I think perhaps they need a new head honcho at BA one who is prepared to listen and give"n"take and hopefully come to an amicable decision, however I am still of a mind that the conferences should be televised to allow all staff at BA to know exactly what is being said not told by a third party thereby allowing them to come to there own conclusions.Bullying and threat's should never be allowed he therefore should be replaced at once.

I really do think that both sides need to cool down and really try hard to find a solution, BA employ 12,000 staff and it would be catastrophic if through strike action they went to the wall and those staff entered the halls of the unemployed however I am not taking BA's side, what I do believe is that these talks involve 12000 people and so the talks should perhaps be televised to enable the staff to see the whole spectrum of the discussions.

So why did BA course this situation in the first place. It was them they tried to force through contractual changes to working conditions they knew full well it would cause the strike!

This comes as no surprise!!! one of Gordon Browns Senior Officials at No.10 is entirely paid by the UNITE Trade Union Clare Moody a National Officer for UNITE whilst working alongside "gordy" is paid her salary of 50,000 pounds plus pension by UNITE!!!, NOW is this right. Charlie Whelan also has a desk available for him at No.10 plus a security pass that allows him to walk around Westminister and drink at the bar, but then a Union who has supplied 11 Million pounds over the last 3 years to the Labour Party is obviously going to be given Carte Blanche aren't they???

in the last ten years. The exact figure is £29,541,155 given by UNITE and the two unions from which it was formed- the Transport and General Workers and Amicus- since 2011. And these unions have in turn received £17,778,967 million from us, the taxpayers,  in return since 1998.UNITE and the two unions from which it was formed- the Transport and General Workers and Amicus- has received our money under the little known "Unuion Modernisation Fund" and the "Union Learning Fund".The Prime Minister and over 100 Labour MP's are members of UNITE.The £17,778,967 from us the taxpayers has in turn enabled greatly assisted the unions concerned to give huge amounts of money to the Labour Party, year after year.We the taxpayers are in fact paying to keep the Labour Party going through money paid to the Labour Party by the unions; a large part of this money has been paid to the unions by the Government using funds collected by the Government from us through taxes. What a scam !I wonder did the Keens get any of this money ?
