What Labour have achieved in 13 years?

I didn't write this but it sums up the past 13 years. Yes let’s have a second look. Just to remind us what 13 years of power can do (cut out and keep edition): Ballot Boxes are interfered with.Voting registers go missing.The Police can kill innocent people and get away with it. The state can kill people and get away with it. You can be put in prison for 42 days on pure suspicion. You can be put in prison indefinitely on the word of a politician .The State can torture people. Your children are monitored at School by Political Officers. Their behaviour is logged on a State database for their entire lives. Your innocent fingerprints, iris scans and biometrics are held by the State.You do not have the right to remain silent. You are watched on 4 million CCTV cameras. You may not photograph the Police. The media is controlled by the State. You do not have the right to protest peacefully. Curfews exist for entire communities. Your travel movements are logged and monitored. Who you vote for is logged and monitored. Your shopping habits are studied and logged by the State. Your emails and telephone conversations are recorded by the State. Your passport can be withdrawn at the whim of the State.Government agencies can use lie detector tests on you.Asylum seekers flooding the country (cost nobody knows).- £22,500 of debt for every child born in Britain. - 111 tax rises from a government that promised no tax rises at all. - The longest national tax code in the world. - 100,000 million pounds drained from British pension funds. - Gun crime up 57%. - Violent crime up 70%. - The highest proportion of children living in workless households anywhere in Europe. - The number of pensioners living in poverty up by 100,000. - The lowest level of social mobility in the developed world. - The only G7 country with no growth this year. - One in six young people neither earning nor learning. - 5 million people on out-of-work benefits. - Missing the target of halving child poverty. - Child poverty rising in each of the last three years instead. - Cancer survival rates among the worst in Europe. - Hospital-acquired infections killing nearly three times as many people as are killed on the roads. - Falling from 4th to 13th in the world competitiveness league. - Falling from 8th to 24th in the world education rankings in maths. - Falling from 7th to 17th in the rankings in literacy. - The police spending more time on paperwork than on the beat.- Fatal stabbings at an all-time high. - Prisoners released without serving their sentences. - Foreign prisoners released and never deported. - 7 million people without an NHS dentist. - Small business taxes going up. - Business taxes raised from among the lowest to among the highest in Europe. - Tax rises for working people set for after the election. - The 10p tax rate abolished.- The ludicrous promise to have ended boom and bust. - Our gold reserves sold for a quarter of their worth. - Our armed forces overstretched and under-supplied. - Profitable post offices closed against their will. - One of the highest rates of family breakdown in Europe. - The ‘Golden Rule’ on borrowing abandoned because it didn’t fit. - Police inspectors in 10 Downing Street. - Dossiers that were dodgy. - Mandelson resigning the first time. - Mandelson resigning the second time.- Mandelson coming back for a third time. - Bad news buried. - Personal details lost. - An election bottled. - A referendum denied. New Labour.

DawnI see your point but as Sue started her own thread with the same tile but different emphasis the moderators have let it stand. I suppose they could have merged them. Sue Sampson may not have agreed to that.

Yes I appreciate that, but why are their 2 threads starting on the 30th March with a criticism of Labour and then Sue Sampsons with all the attributes on the 4th, they should rightly have been on the one thread.

So whats the choice? Stay away, spoil their paper, Vote Lib Dem or Green?

Even dear old Harold had a mistress whom he made a Baroness, also we appear to be the last country to still have a recession in our peripheral vision, yes! I do agree with you,unions have always supported Labour however Charlie Whelan is not only a large part of Unite he is also a large part of Gordon Brown's office and to my mind that is dangerous, the man is already making himself felt by interviewing prospective Unite people for the Marginal Seat's around 129, bad business you can not have unions running our government.It would seem to me that apart from Greece the rest are not doing to badly, here's the rub for me we the people through the government own 85% of RBS, Mandy Meddlesom Mandelson(Business Secreatary) told us that their was nothing he could do about Kraft USA buying out Cadbury however their was, Kraft only had 1 Billion they borrowed another 10 Billion from RBS, now seeing as this bank is government controlled then he could have given the bank a nay on the deal which obviously he didn't, therefore we have Cadbury plant's being closed by Kraft to be re-opened in the profitable Poland not good business for either the redundant workers or for our economy. And yes!! I am indeed a very real person a true Brentonian who's family have lived here for 500 years and who truely does care about our community and our country, what is good for them is surely good for us. May I ask why??? you have no candidate Labour are everywhere!!!

Fine....my reply was this:  NITA was a group working together as a TEAM it wasn't the individual in questions Group.You said it for the Group so where did it say MBE for NITA? Also she never mentioned once in the local papers it was a team effort!!!Basically she didnt deserve it and alot off people on Ivybridge agreed she was just a General for Ann Keen hold on the Residents Association and for her loyalty was awarded a MBE.

Are you a real person?  You seem to have popped up in the last few weeks with quite vehement views (not all of which do I disagree with - which is a bit of a worry actually).  Unions have always supported the Labour party (and financed it) that is how it was born in the first place so there's nothing new there is there?As for a government we can trust, well there's the rub, the last government I had any faith in was probably that led by Harold Wilson but maybe that was just because the 60s was a great time generally. This country is in a financial pickle right enough but, so is virtually the whole world.  It is no worse here than anywhere else in Europe and I believe the parsimonious Scot is the very man to see us through.  It's just a shame I (and many others) can't vote labour as unfortunately I have no candidate.

Philip, We have the oppurtunity to have a young vibrant enthusiastic new government, do you not remember Tony Blair or the other Labourite's had no experience, perhaps we should give the new boy's on the block a chance I personally can only see growth to our economy coming out of it, the other worrying aspect of Labour is the fact that Unite have a strangle hold on them do you realise that over 129 marginal seats are candidates chosen by Unite that is very frightening. I want a government that I can once again trust one that have we the people's interest in mind not their own selfish ones.I want a government who will assist our troops with the right kit and vehicles that hopefully give them an edge on the enemy in Afghanistan. But most of all I no longer wish to have a Draconian governemnt who know best and expect we the people to do as we are told without criticism.

Firstly you must live in cuckoo land Vanessa "Supportive off me" yeah when i was doing her Dirty work for her she was then she stabbed me in the Back.The trouble with her was she took other peoples work and called it her own, when you are on a Resident group its not about 1 individual its about the TEAM.Yes the RESIDENT Association achieved many things like a Lottery Grant (which they no longer get after residents wrote to the National Lottery to complain the Bridgelink Centre was not a community Centre) but it was TEAM effort not a "Individual" effort.This is the woman who along with a late Great Friend off hers made me call a No Vote off confidence on another Residents who was on NITA just because he was against the Labour group and supported Phil and the ICG.Not to mention the woman is very 2 faced who went and Criticized 1 woman then hands the Chair over to her when she left NITA, Criticized and refused to allow the ICG to work with NITA for years then had a lovely get together with Phil which i attended so please don't tell me i am being unfair she didn't deserve the MBE and i told her that when she Showed me it there are far more people who live locally who have done far more than her who havent ben awarded a MBE ohhh yes sorry you have to be a Labour Party Member and a Ann Keen backside Kisser to get 1.

Simon, That really is spiteful of you, as you well know that the person in question was very supportive to you. Who's writing your script these days? Loyalty has sod all to do with it, it was for the continuing success of a local residents group, the work that went into getting Lottery funding for a new building for the estate where both you and she lived. Very few people who get any sort of recognition do it all on their own, and I know that this particular lady was mindful of the many people who contributed to the success of what was achieved. Her MBE was for ALL of them, it was absolutely nothing at all to do with the sitting MP or party loyalties, think what you like, it's easy to sit on the sidelines and bitch, and to denigrate the efforts of others when your nose has been put out of joint. I thought you were better than that.

Dawn everything you say about labour could also be said for the Tories they will not repeal any of labours laws and their politicians voted in parliament for those same laws. Governments of any persuasion can only draft the laws, it takes agreement and cooperation from the majority of the House to vote it through.I am sure that you already now that; It just doesn't fit with your views, so you choose to ignore the facts making you a perfect Tory.

A little ditty for you from Glasgow!!! it would seem that one of Tony Blair's Blue Eyed Boy's has been a tad naughty, he goes by the name of Steven Purcell Ex-Leader of Glasgow City Council who set up an elaborate system of Political Patronage which included friends allies and even opposition councillors whom he paid tens of thousands of pounds to run a network of hived-off companies, these so called companies cost the tax payer of Glasgow an additional 400,000 pounds of what it would have cost them if the work distributed out had been kept in-house, he gave Labour Councillor's who received no special responsibility allowances, positions on these outside bodies who were then paid five-figure sums on top of their basic salaries whilst SNP Councillors who have fiercely criticised the outside companies recently have also pocketed tens of thousands of pounds from the companies that they have so vehemently criticised. They all receive minimum 2000 pounds for attending said meetings, many members of the authority earn more from directorship fees each year than they do their basic salary of 16234 pounds. Mr Purcell having been found out has since resigned due to ill health stress and the misuse of cocaine. One Labour Councillor is quoted as saying after being asked about a rumour of a defection of a colleague to the SNP "What and lose 12000 pounds a year for the sake of ideology and principles".

I say falsely because of how many times she has actaully been to Brentford I reckon I can count them on one hand.
