Hustings on the 24th April

Your boss, Harry Enfield-lookalike Cllr Peter Thompson (who voted to more than double his "Special Responsibility Allowance") was a very vocal member of the audience. Given his record, I would have thought a bit of silence would have been more approriate.

I note that not one  of the local Labour Councillors was present at the Hustings. Prior engagements too?Embarrassing for them perhaps? What can they say? How can they justify our so called MP persistently declining to meet her constituents?Where was our MP? She missed then 2006 Hustings too.Still she's due to appear in Chiswick on the 30th April.

It must have been another day. Robin has already told you that she was at another meeting arranged prior to the announcement of the Brentford hustings. No doubt he can provide you with more details of that other event if you want an  alibi for her non-appearance. Ann didn't tweet about her engagements on Thursday night - but has recently commented :"Heard last nights so called hustings in Brentford had its fair share of the ''nasty party'' showing its true colours Tory blue!."

More likely in my view that she knows that the vast majority of people who will attend will only do so because they are anti-Keen, not because they are genuinely undecided about who to vote for.  Why walk into an ambush ?!.

Would this be the same Hounslow Matters that your party started publishing Robin and which also used to have double the amount of issues delivered each year when you were in Administration?The same Hounslow Matters that Labour leaflets use to be jointly delivered with just before the last elections though it was a genuine mistake Guv honest!!It would appear that even now Labour cannot find enough activists to deliver their leaflets locally eh Robin and have resorted to other means??

According to one of the local paper's online poll 79% of people who responded to them say they have already decided where their vote is going. I am very interested in politics but even at this stage I am already losing the will to live. It's gonna be a long 3 weeks, I am so glad I won't be around for the final push.

As a matter of interest, apart from the candidiates, how may people turn up at these hustings? As a supplementary, are those who turn up mainly committed politicos anyway so the event will not sway them one way or the other?
