St Georges Day Events in the Isleworth Area
Great news that local residents will at last be able to celebrate St Georges Day with the help of some funding from Area Committees and especially the Ivybridge Estate which received a joint bid from the Bridgelink Centre and also the Ivybridge Somali Association who were extremely keen to become involved.Although the events on the estate will actually be taking place on the 24th April and not the 23rd to allow those who may be working to take part it promises to be a great day if you can make it.The event takes place between 12pm and 5pm and will consist of a band and a disco, children's games, bouncy castle, tombola and various stalls, a photo exhibition of Somalia and a stall with Somalian food etc, a fancy dress competition for the best St George and also the Dragon plus a Pearly King or QueenFood will be available all day in the shape of Jellied Eels, Pie and Mash and a BBQThe Ivybridge School have also been very busy and involved with this event learning about all Patron Saints and I am sure the pupils will have a wonderful dayThe Isleworth Royal British Legion also received a grant and will be laying on an event that weekend and I will post further details as soon as I receive them
