NHS

I know I've said this before and I make no apologies for repeating myself, but I must say that whatever else anyone on this Forum says this Government's investment in health care has been transforming and amazing. I had to see an Orthopod with a suspected damaged cartilage which has had me in agony at times. This was last Monday week, I then was sent straightaway for X-rays and also needed an MRI scan. I received the MRI appointment this morning for this Saturday and called to set up a further appointment to see the specialist and that's for 26 April. What a far cry from the 18 months and more waits that there used to be when the Tories were let loose on our precious NHS. I am lucky I enjoy relatively good health, but conscious of time and age I know I may inevitably have to use the health service more in the future. Above most things this is one of our most precious assets and one we must defend, much as I am not impressed with our local MP, I really believe that only with Labour is the future of our NHS safe.

Things aren't quite that rosy at my end of the Borough.I went to my Quack (yes, that's right the one with whom I have a communication problem)who said he was 'putting me up for Auction' to see to whom he could refer me.10 weeks later I saw the next doctor in the chain (same communication difficulty) who said that in about three months I should get a hospital appointment.I know I'm a racist, xenophobe, Nazi, bigot, (because I've told so by intellectuals on this website), but I do hope that the next Doctor I see speaks the same language as me.

Over the last 3 months I have made extensive use of the NHS after not having visited a Doctor since 2005. They were fantastic from my GP to the Consultant to the A&E at West Mid, to the 2 nights I had to spend in West Mid,  to the after care consultancy at West Mid. Yesterday I discovered that I had run out of some medication so I phoned my GP. No problem at all - all I had to do was send them an email and my wife could collect the repeat precription an hour later. No complaints at all, efficient, clean (and even the food was good!)  Well done NHS. Well done St Margarets Surgery, well done West Mid.
