Brentford and Isleworth is a two way fight

Now that the Clegg effect has faded nationally, and now that Andrew Dakers has failed to make an impact locally, Brentford and Isleworth is a straight two way fight between Labour's Ann Keen and the Conservatives' Mary Macleod.The Conservatives have a strong lead over both Labour and the Lib Dems nationally. Mary Macleod has fought a much stronger campaign than her predecessor did in 2005 and the Conservative led Council is popular, having done a great job improving services and freezing the Council Tax. General Elections are about choosing a Government.There is no prospect whatsover of the Lib Dems forming a  Government. Therefore if you want to keep Ann Keen and Gordon Brown - vote Labour but if you want a new MP and a new Government, vote Conservative.

Correction, it's actually a 10 way fight. Some may have less chance than others, agreed, but it is not a foregone conclusion. Rather than asserting biased preference why not wait until the result is announced - it's less than a day away. So easy and less stress. David Are you Saying the Tories can Make change??  Awarding the rich and Taking from the Poor. Andrew is very well known in Isleworth it shows with the amount off Posters and Boards I've seen I've only seen 1 for Mary in my travels on Worton Rd, and he just got my Family votes which was 7 Votes Good Luck Andrew you can do it mate!!

This is total fantasy all in your head.  The Tories peaked too soon in this seat. Her campaign, no matter what she says, is funded on ill-gotten gains owed to us tax payers.

People don't need to have a polling card to vote provided they are on the Electoral Register. All they have to do, is to turn up at the correct polling station and give their name and address.It is a good idea to bring along some foprm of identification but that is not absolutely necessary either.The system is of course wide open to abuse - as is the postal voting system- but it is  the system we have at the moment.

Andrew Dakers only barely managed to get elected to Hounslow Council in 2006 and since then the Lib Dem group of councillors has reduced in size under his leadership. The Lib Dems are running only one candidate in each of the Chiswick wards for example where the Conservatives and Labour are running three.He is very little known outside Brentford and the Lib Dems simply don't have enough members or activists in the constituency.In 2006, Andrew benefitted from a very poor Conservative campaign. This time around things are very different. Mary Macleod has been campaigning hard for over 3 years and is well known throughout the constituency.In addition, people want a change of Government and the Lib Dems cannot offer that. On the contrary, they offer the prospect of keeping Labour in power.

Well here's something new from Labour. Arrived in my letterbox today, the Election Eve."Our Pledge to You"  - a Council Tax Cut for all residents."Wow - that'll be good. I wonder why the other parties didn't think of this innovative idea? Labour have out-manoeuvred everyone.  I bet the Tories are kicking themselves. Damn clever these Labout chaps!
