Hi Keith,Apologies for the delay in replying, my husband, daughter and I went down about 5.30, had a good look at the plan's, I think a vast improvement to the previous plans, however there is 1 x 10 Storey Block albiet tucked away in the corner near the Bus Depot that really is not acceptable.Halve it and the problem should go away. Like you I was disappointed with the response of what we residents of Brentford would benefit from this development I tried to get a positive answer on Section 106 monies that LBH will obviously get, this should be used to improve our town unfortunately nada!to give due to the 2 young men they tried there hardest but did'nt have the knowledge to cope with being put on the spot with pertinent questions. As you say we need a lot more Doctor's, many more school places, additional road space to which we are not going to get, most mornings now it takes on the best of day's 30 minutes to get from Brentford Bridge to Kew Bridge a lot longer sometimes, is the Sewerage System going to be updated we have to remember we have that awful prison block at the hospital as well, can the sewers cope???  Unless we can pinpoint the Section 106 Monies you can just bet that LBH will try to use them elsewhere in the borough. I'll have a word with one of my ex-colleagues up town. Will they try to put a road from Commerce to Field Lane if so, what will go in Field Lane, are they thinking of making the High Street pedestrians only, that will not work when you consider the amoun t of traffic that passes through our high road. There is an awful lot to consider.Have a goodnight.Dawn

Yet again you are attempting to put word's into my mouth, I did not and would not put Proffessional's into the same category as Drug Pusher's that is indeed an insult and that was not intended,as for outsider's making our drug problem worse go down to the Green Dragon Estate preferably in a car it will be safer for you, Somalians have taken over the drug scene there and they are not to be played around with so beware or perhaps you want to catch an overland train, do not go to Brentford Railway Station at night on your own that is again a drug pusher's spot only punter's come by car to score I believe that is the idiom used. User's phone in there order's now and the pusher's deliver to each and every pub in Brentford. I am angry because this filth destroy's so many peoples lives not only the user's but also there loved ones. Oh! I am quite sure that it is the thing to do (what did one post call it snort) at a cheap give away price however this filth breaks up homes families and should be neither tolerated or allowed, nothing for nothing in this life a freeby score today means your hooked tomorrow. As for new developments, having paid 400k for a lovely place would you like to have a council tenant as your next door neighbour(if you say yes! I will not believe you)count on it your council tenant will not be indigenous to Brentford. To be fair probably one tenth are bad blood but that is enough to cause despair. You perceive what you want too not what was intended. You appear to be extremely knowlegeable about many things it makes one wonder why?? you feel that you cannot comment on our council would it be perhaps that you are either a councillor or actually work for the council after all you certainly have no compunction about taking myself to task.My dear man whatever colour or creed all newcomers are welcome into our town providing that they are hard working honest and contribute to our community.

Dawn, you are clearly a person of strongly held views. I can see the justification for many of your concerns - the likely over-subscription (is that the right phrase?) to the local sewerage plant being an example. I also agree with your points about spending money locally - using local shops, bars and restaurants is one way to ensure the high street thrives. Good points. However, my sarcasm was not to tell you what you think. It was a poor attempt to highlight what appeared to be inconsistencies or unreasonableness in your arguments.I do think it worth taking you to task on your rather sweeping statement about new developments, their inhabitants and their negative impact. You appear to throw drug users and rich professionals into one pot (they are all outsiders who do nothing for Brentford). Worse still, you also imply that the new developments fall into one of two categories (drug user squallor; or over-priced investment properties) - and that everyone on each adheres to your stereotype. This is an insult to the majority of residents in any new development. It is unjustified and plainly wrong. Please understand: I am not saying there are no drug users or criminals in Brentford; nor am I trying to deny that some people bought into the expensive developments purely to make money. Of course both are true. I am saying it is wrong to tar all residents with the same brush. You did that tarring and you were wrong to do so.You also comment at length about council actions. This is not how this thread started nor was it the aim of my comments to address this. I cannot comment on it.I would lastly point out that we do now live in a mobile world. Not everyone, but many, move house and move location a number of times in their lives. This not bad. It does not suit everyone but is an increasing trend. I would hope, as has happened in other towns I've had the privilige of being resident, that the locals welcome me. I'm saddened that you and some other commentators on this thread seem to find this welcome so difficult.

Please do not tell me what I think, the start of the Ruination of Brentford came with the Green Dragon Lane Developement(I believe it is called Haverfield Estate)cottages were torn down and those monstrosities were built NOT to house local residents but other borough's, that was the begining of the end of Brentford each and every development since has brought in outsider's, that is WHY! we can no longer keep our front and Back Door's open. I have nothing but admiration for people who have made it and DO have second homes, however if you live in the area then you should be prepared to put something back into the community, don't get me wrong I shop at Morrision's however for my big shop my children take me to Chiswick or Staines to enable me to get what I want at a fair price. When we were Brentford & Chiswick we were a thriving community now we are the pit's, monies gained by the Council under Section 106 for Development in Brentford SHOULD be utalized in Brentford for the good of the Community not given to some other project elsewhere that will bring in votes. If ISIS and British Waterways can show Building's no taller than 6 Storey's, Shop's that will give us bargains and do not have outrageous parking plans on the agenda that we as a Town cannot accomodate than the objection's will surely disappear. We also need to know what ISIS will contribute to Brentford with the Section 106 monies and what the Council plan's to use it for are, that is a must it is our right and if that is not forthcoming than we must all bombard David Cameron to amend Section 106 to ensure that we Brentonions do Benefit.I can remember when I was a kid Brentford High Street being packed out especially on a Saturday and having to walk in the road because we had so many shops, we even had a Cinema Called The Bug Hutch(Queens Hall).Out of a development of 300 flats, the Council probably get30 of them for Council Tenant's,are they for Brentonions NO of course not they are for people outside of our community,at any given time there are 8000 families on the housing list, look around you do our people benefit from applications being granted NO! outsider;s are housed in preverance to people inside of our community,so we loose anyway. It's time that we all realised that we have right's and we can criticise our Council and that we expect only the best for our community, then if they are condescending and are not prepared to talk with us. We can and WILL go to Wesminster with our concerns also do our utmost to ensure that Section 106 monies given to the Council for the benefit of Brentford is rightly used for Brentford.

Jim,It's nice to be able to look back at what once was Brentford, I have a picture going back a century and half taken of my Great Grand Parents who worked at the Market Gardens Kew Bridge, it is now the Leisure Centre. Perhaps Keith would share with us, his idea of what we resident's have gained overtime from the new developements that have been constructed. From my sad point of view it is over loaded sewers, West Middlesex Hospital 1 Quarter of the size it was when I was a child and if you are lucky enough when ill to be admitted you get sent home iller than you were when admitted. When you consider how much bigger Brentford is, it's a great shame that we no longer have the amount of shops that we did 60 years ago,Oh! yes we have 4 Nail Salons all greatly used by young single mother's who are on the dole, then we have of course a Tattoo Parlour I mean does'nt just everyone want one, we have 2 Opticians a Cafe also a couple of Restaurants plus 1 Baker's shop of course we have Costcutters also Morrisons plus 2 Banks also 2 Internets, where I ask myself is the warmth and caring that was once Brentford destroyed by uncaring councils and developers who saw a quick buck and never mind what follows. They show absolutely no concern that we have a dreadful drug problem, every pub and I do mean every pub have dealers going in on a daily basis, it is WRONG and it should be stamped out with all due speed by the Drug Squad that have there department in Brentford Police Station. I would like to see my Village the way it was when I was a child or even when our children where younger sadly that is not going to happen, consequently we have to do our outmost to ensure that neither Thames Water or ISIS build anymore monstrosities.
