Dr Torode - Brentford resident 1930s/40s

Would anyone have any idea how I go about finding more about this resident? My grandmother was part of his household in the 1930s and I'd like to find out where she lived. I'm not sure I have the spelling right even, but I gather there were Torodes in the area then.Many thanks for any advice.

Thanks Jim - of course - I didn't realise that Chiswick library covered Brentford. I'll get down there pronto.

Here is a typical page from a Kelly's Directory..which ceased publication in 1938/39.This is the 1938 Edition.

Chiswick Library (Local Studies Section) is one suggestion.Caroline Hammond and friends there have a substantial set of the yearly publication "Kelly's".Kelly Directories list Brentford streets in alpha order and name the main occupant in each numbered dwelling. In addition there is a further index in the back of the book listing Commercial premises in alpha order..and finally "main householders" in alpha order.It's a gem of a Library..and you can make photocopies there of your finds!
