Shouldn't we sink or swim together?

I hope the London Borough of Hounslow doesn’t adopt the same petty minded approach to Ramadan as the City of Stoke.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/stoke_and_staffordshire/10596808.stmAnd please God no Moslem child drowns as a result of not receiving swimming lessons due to this political correctness.Left to their own devices kids pretty much sort things out for themselves and don’t need big brother stirring things up and highlighting the differences between them, which can be the cause of racial resentment.

Schools aren't even open during most of Ramadan, Ramadan starts at the beginning of August and ends at the beginning of September, schools don't go back until 3-5th September and most schools don't schedule swimming lessons in the first week of a new school year as the kids are too busy settling in. Even if Muslim children weren't allowed to swim during Ramadan, and even if the schools did do swimming lessons in September, they only do one lesson a week so the child in question would only miss one lesson out of a whole academic years worth.

I have several Muslim friends and I do know that there are exceptions that can be made for various circumstances during Ramadan, I would have thought common sense dictates that this may be one of them. I have to say I doubt it's a Muslim who came out with this nonsense, more likely a hand-wringing uber PC idiot employed by the local authority at vast expense.
