Chinese Takeway

Where is the best Chinese takeaway in Brentford?  I just fancy some chicken fried rice.Thanks

Brentford Tandori, I felt had gone off a bit on my last visit. Pappadoms good but not cheap. Monty's always good.

I like Poppadoms for a treat -  expensiveto eat in though, recently for family birtdays and things we've had 'takeaway' from there, delivered. Very reasonable pricewise and then of course you can have your own wine/beer etc!I also really like the food at Monty's in South Ealing Rd, and the Brentford Tandoori, but out of those two I thing the SE Monty's wins! happy eating :)

I always get my Indian takaway from Monty's up South Ealing Road.  Food is ALWAYS excellant, they do free home deliveries and there is always enough for another meal the next night as well.Fran

Ming Sing is usually very good and above average for a takeaway.Poppadums is a very nice restaurant, good food but upmarket prices and it can be inconsistent.Brentford Tandoori more the usual kind and good too. But last 2 times they have pulled a fast one by serving same orders on 1 platter and you get about one and  half portions.They get quite offish if you dare complain politely and don't yield to complaints willingly and yet they are like kittens when the after pub lot get rude and gobby. A shame as the food is always good.Zayka in South Ealing is a real gem although it is always rakes up a notch higher when it's original owner turns up to help out. Regular Chef there is brilliant.South Ealing and Northfields seem to have several good indians and the two newest are really good

Brentford Tandoori's quite nice, although it's more Bangladeshi than Indian. Have been in there a couple of times with comrades.If memory serves, it's on the northern side of the High Street somewhere between the Weir and Half Acre.

Thanks everyone.  I did go to the Ming Sing in the end and our chicken fried rice was lovely - ate loads in fact.Eating at the Weir this evening, its their annual barbecue which should by good.Now which is the best Indian?

That's a funny line!! Thankfully that cat is only ever out the front not in the kitchen!The family running it are delightful and well liked locally.Personally, having lived in Hong Kong where Chinese food is completely different and often way off the British palatte as to be revolting.Here, I find that the Ming Sing is every bit as good as Maxims or the New Peking both of which I take clients to often and a lot better than some of the places serving up 'Chinese' food in Soho's Chinatown.But the Ming Sing is a take away. The food is pretty much the same, certainly as good as the local more expensive restaurants but obviously it is packaged thus not presented as you would find in a restaurant. That does make a visual difference but not to the taste.

Agree Ming Sing is the best. Understand the cat is partial to sweet and sour chicken and certainly looks well on it. Would be more worried if suddenly stopped seeing the cat!!!!!!!!!

i hate to be a dissenter but the last takeaway i got from there was inedible rubbish - wouldn't touch it personally.  Having said that can't recommend anywhere else in Brentford would have to be the North China in Acton or Maxims in Northfields Avenue - North China is best though.
