Happy children, Happy parents and happy everyone!

Did you manage to get along to the Brentford Festival today? Join this thread (or the others) and have your say!There's no doubt it was a knock-out, huge crowds, so many activities and the time went so quickly.It's just amazing that Brentford (and neighbours Ealing) can organise such a big bash.Linda Massey is the unpaid conductor of a large orchestra of willing volunteers..who return year after year with new helpers too. People love working for her. She deserves a medal!

She has kindly given me permission to use her snaps on this thread.. and I will mention that when I do.Amongst the throng there was Sara.. bedecked in colourful balloons.

There were some one dozen stalls here..between the Pavilion and the main field on the other side of the Motorway. There were church groups, recycling stalls, Greenpeace,the Green groups and more and that was heartening.

Queues were an easy target for giving out the free Festival Programme. The attraction here was the ponies.

These present day cameras are amazing. This Canon Ixus 500 is some 4 years old..and it's a delight when smiles and eyes are captured.This young girl was having a happy time...and I was having a snappy one!

It's great fun roaming around the Festival taking snaps..but on the day I was supposed to be helping in the Pavilion Cafe doing the washing up..and helping the ladies ..as in previous years!I've sometimes nipped out for a while ..played truant... and taken snaps and looked around. But I'm not the Official Photographer of anything like that.This year the ladies had the kitchen well sorted and so I switched to another task...trolleying some boxes of the Festival Programme and handing them out to all and sundry. It was great fun and an opportunity to speak to so many.However, I didn't see the Mayors, let alone take a picture of them. I only pictured one of the 14 bands and never made it to the walled garden to see the action there.So my range of photos is limited. Others may have done a whole albumsworth! There are some on the front page of the Ealing Forum taken by their Editor.So don't let me hog the threads..join in..and apologies if I've missed your stand /band/ etc.Let me continue with the better snaps I have. Some of the crowds reached great dizzy heights! Very brave!

Well you may be able capture the sounds of some of the 14 bands on You Tube.. but if you missed the Dog Show you'll never see such a Parade again!

The first hour seemed "slow" but soon the crowds flocked in..the raindrops stopped..and the sun came out too!The Festival Day view of GSK is awsome..don't you think?
