We have the capital funding, unbelievably. I believe there are revenue concerns about setting up provision that needs to be staffed. Funding for the specialist play team (who use it during the summer for exactly the kind of provision we need) is not secure in the current climate. We want it built (use it or lose it) with a plan on how to staff it developed over the coming months when so many uncertainties become known. Worst case is sign it over to a trust the same as Dukes Meadows and let Big Society get on with it (which we would).I really is needed. Parents regularly travel 10 or 12 miles to access play with their disabled child if they are able to. If they aren't then options are very limited, particularly for older, larger, more severely disabled young people and even young adults.
