Are Tescos now providing special bins in the store for this? I understand that is what the stores do in Germany.

Once you have had you item scanned for payment you can remove the unwanted packaging and leave it in the store.

So what has happened to Tesco's recycling? As a company responsible for foisting so much unsolicited packaging on us - the disposal of which we then have to pay for in our Council Tax - I feel they should be a lot more helpful than they are in helping us to help the environment. They are members of the British Retail Consortium which has an identification system for packaging which may not be perfect but does give the customer some guidance and yet the packaging I've seen brought into my house from their stores has no identification on it. I have a similar problem with Morrisons.http://www.onpackrecyclinglabel.org.uk/
Just one small plastic bag a week...and I deliver just about everything to the recycling facility at Morrisons..now that Tescos Osterley have abandoned their previous state of the art scheme. So my friendly Hungarian dustmen can by-pass my dwelling.

Speaking from a household of 4, one small plastic bag every other week. Polystyrene tends to be the biggest item.

One every fortnight.
