I think “Brentonians” my have started with my Granddads generation to describe being a supporter of the Brentford football club. When I was knee high to a grasshopper, every one in the area was a supporter, so you referred to yourself as a Brentonian even when being asked where you came from. The old name may not fit and Brentfordian (s) may be more correct, but why try and change the way we have said it for years.Sometimes it nice to have something a bit, wacky, daft and doesn’t quite fit in the nanny state we live in now, where everything has to be politically correct and elf and safety mad. ;0)
