Superb talk at Gunnersbury Park Museum TONIGHT!
Despite the weather and the strike the Friends of Gunnersbury are going ahead with an unusual talk at the Museum this evening - mince pies and wine or soft drinks from 7pm, talk from 7.30pm. Free admission - all welcome!Julie Smith, who runs Upton House near Banbury for the National Trust will be talking about how she has rescued the property from spiralling decline to a good news story. There should be lessons for Gunnersbury here.Julie worked in senior positions at Fired Earth and Marks and Spencer before going to the National Trust and her fresh approach has clearly paid off - reducing the annual deficit and increading visitor numbers. The House was the home of a rich businessman in the 1930s and the new presentation aims to give visitors a sense that they are joining a weekend house party!
