This year's "Golden Mile" Christmas Trees & decorations...
Brentford's Great West Road in years gone by was a real visual treat in years gone by at Christmastime...as many will remember.The approach uphill to Gillette Corner was a sea of twinkling lights. But this year..just ONE TREE outside the SKY TV HQ at the entrance to the PC World Estate..and admittedly that sole twinkling tree looks splendid.Then there are 2 semi -feeble trees at the Chiswick Flyover end of the GWR. Shame! If you're new to the area you won't know what we're on about.The red ribboning of the West London Audi showroom looks good..but that's it!The old Gillette Building remains in Bonnington Hotel darkness..even the clock tower clockface was in darukness when I last passed by.Good news is that the Great West Road still provides employment for many many thousands of locals in well paid work..and perhaps that's more important..than my silly rant! :)
