The 'experts will tell you its ceiling followed by walls -in emulsion - either matt or satin finish, then followed by architrave and skirting if doing that. Then lastly doors, these can be done in any finish you like, gloss, eggshell or satin, this paint can be oil based, and you can also get water based if preferred. You need to wash everything down with sugar soap and rub down wood work where required to give a 'key' for the new paint. Don't forget to cover everything with dust sheets.
