Brentford Library Read-in 5 February

Anyone who has not already got a copy of the flyer advertising the read-in: if you let me have your email address I'll send you a copy which you can either forward to friends and neighbours or print-off and give to them or put up on display around your area. MP Mary MacLeod will be attending as will local celebrities Anna Ford and Susan Penhaligon.

Excellent coverage on the ITN London News at 6.05pm tonight.Brentford Library Read-in will also feature in a BBC Inside Out programme (not sure which BBC channel) in about 3 weeks time.

Alan Gibbons, who is behind the proposal of holding a "Save Our Libraries Day" on 5th Feb, reports that there will be over 90 events across the country. Can some creative people who are coming to the read-in please make placards. Home made placards with original slogans will greatly increase the impact of our event - remember the witty slogans which were highly visible at the student fees protests.Secondly, if anyone would be willing to talk to a journalist about how a public library has played a significant part in their life please let me know.
