I paid 35 pounds for my copy about 3 years ago. This is a signed copy in very good condition. It came from abebooks.com. As Jim says they are more expensive on that site now.

Thanks for that Jim!   Yes I remember the printers now,it was descretely tucked away in the corner as you mentioned,I've seen a picture in the last couple of months showing a delivery van there. (poss.BHS site)   What a delightful house(and picture) that is,one of several in The Butts that I used (in my head) as settings for period radio plays when listening to the Home Service in the late 50s early 60s.  As kids in the 50s we used to go ear'olin' in the Butts,not scrounging, but riding our track bikes as fast as we could in circles,leaning over to the point where gravity and lack of stiction caused the inevitable stitches in the chin at the Cottage Hospital.Thanks!

Sorry this is the wrong house No 15...but you might as well have a look at my 2007 effort! Walter Pearce lived at No 17 on the other corner..so suggests Kellys.

I remember the Buckley Press in The Butts.  It was in the south east corner. I made deliveries there in the 1970s.Tony, your mentioning Walter Pearce as printer of Fred Turner's book (all editions?) activates enquiring minds!Let's dig out Kelly's Directory (1939) from the bookshelf!THE BUTTS: (South Side)36a. Mine is a second edition in fair condition (ex Tottenham Library),I think I paid about £30 for it 3 or 4 years ago.It says that it was printed in The Butts by Walter Pearce and Co St.Georges Press in 1922. Where would they have been in The Butts?

When Chris Dakers read from his copy at the Brentford read-in last Saturday, he wasn't sure if there was a copy in Brentford Library. I've just checked the catalogue and it says there are several reference copies, but they are kept in the back office & issued on request. Also at Chiswick & Hounslow.
