Alf,I recognise the name. I joined 4th Brentford cubs at St Faiths in 1952. I was a Cub, Scout. and Senior Scout there before becoming a leader in 1962. Following the building of the new church hall the group had to move and set up home for some years in Ealing Road School. Wally and Richard Brown remained with the group until they retired from work and moved away from the area. In 1968 the group was amalgamated with the 7th Brentford.the new group becoming known as the 4/7th and meeting in a new purpose built HQ, at the rear of St Pauls Church. Over the following years the group was very successful including the running of 2 cub packs and the formation of a Scout and Guide Band which subseqeuntly played at a number of local events. Coincidentally the Group Scout Leader during this time was Eddie Brown (no relation) Regettably the group lost its building in 1992 when St Pauls Church was redeveloped. It then continued to meet again in the Church Hall until finally closing in about 2001 due to a lack of leaders.Myself and Celia Lassman, who was an assistant cub leader in the 1950,s are both still involved in Scouting as members of the District Active Support Unit and I am also a member of the District Exec.Hopefully you have some good memories of your time in the group, camps etc. as I am sure have many others who followed you over the years. Finally a few names some of which you may remember :- Angus Coe, Roy Gibbons,Tony Green, Brian Carter, Geof Owen, Alan Ashton, Graham Knowles, David Stoker,Mike Beaver, John Meighan Ian Viney.
