Sold Short?

I noticed some weeks ago that the playground area of St Pauls' Recreation ground was undergoing a renovation.On the barrier fencing was a series of impressions of the pending completion of the work and what would be emerging as a result.Apart form facilities for most eras of childhood, there was also billed and illustrated some adult exercisers of a type found in parks in other boroughs. Excellent things and really good for adults who in this district with serious obesity and health problems would be a welcome addition.However, works complete, display and notices removed, lovely (albeit already vandalised play area but no sign of any exercisers.From what I have ascertained, these were all included in the tender for works and supply so where are they?

Was looking forward to the 'grown up swings' or exercisers as illustrated in the published plans.Been for a look and it's quite true, no sign of them. But goodness gracious! the language used by some of the mums in that park, vile, quite vile.

The new park facilities seem very popular with far more children now using the park than I've seen for a long time.  However, more people bring more rubbish and with a sparse collection of litter bins in the area there is rubbish strewn everywhere at the end of each day including broken glass.The area needs to be cleaned at least once a day before someone has a serious accident.

There is a "fitness area" with a few exercise things.  Not as impressive as ones I've seen elsewhere (Bognor Regis for instance) but the council has delivered as promised.

I would think Matt Harmer or Ruth Cadbury would be able to tell you, they're the local councillors.
